I refer to the official transcript of PM Lee's speech, quoted on
NewsRadio 938.
I quote from the website:

"To make it quite clear why I'm doing this and also to give me the
moral standing to defend this policy with Singaporeans, I will hold
my salary at the present level for five years. The government will
pay me my full salary because that is the way the system will have
to work. But for five years, whatever the increase in salary above
the present level, I will donate to suitable good
causes."
I am baffled just what exactly do these Good causes refer to?. Why
would PM use "suitable good causes" and not simply use "for
charitable causes". Hence, the purpose of his donated salary cannot
be defined as solely for charitable causes, as it is being
mis-represented by major international press which carried this
piece of news.
Lets discuss what some of these Good causes might be?
